On 2nd January 1930 three Missionary Franciscan Sisters stepped off the SS Sonoma in Sydney Harbour. They were on their way to Kedron in Brisbane, Queensland to begin their first foundation with the opening of St Anthonys School.

The MFIC Sisters are sad to announce the death of Sr Crea Gallagher, known in religious life as Sr Mary Patricia. Sr Crea served the community in a wide variety of roles and ministries, particularly education.
Sr M. Clara Condon mfic, much loved Missionary Franciscan Sister, died peacefully yesterday. Clara lived at Delamore Retirement Community at Kedron. She moved to Delamore a year ago after many years of ministry in Merrimac and Kingscliff communities.

Sr Maureen Andrews, Pastoral Leader in Cunnamulla Parish, in western Queensland was awarded the Citizen of Year award by the Paroo Shire Council on Australia Day.
