Elections For New Leadership
During the weekend of October 29th to November 2nd the Missionary Franciscan Sisters went down to the Santa Teresa Retreat Centre at Ormiston for some days of prayer and discernment. The occasion was the elections of the Australian leader and council for the next four years. This proved to be a time to reconnect with the values and mission of the sisters in Australia. The election that followed on October 31st resulted in Sister Pauline Robinson being elected as Australian Leader. The next day her council was elected –Sisters Karen Bourke, Cecilia Prestashewsky. and Catherine White. Sister Catherine is assistant leader.

The outgoing leader, Sister Maureen Andrews, was thanked and applauded for creative leadership during her term of office and for bringing new initiatives to suit the changing situation of the Institute. She has left a secure foundation upon which the new leadership can build.
