The Missionary Franciscan Sisters are very deeply saddened by the events of the past weeks which have seen huge tracts of bush land ablaze with the resulting lost of life, wildlife, homes and livelihoods.

The MFIC Sisters are sad to announce the death of Sr Crea Gallagher, known in religious life as Sr Mary Patricia. Sr Crea served the community in a wide variety of roles and ministries, particularly education.

Sr M. Clara Condon mfic, much loved Missionary Franciscan Sister, died peacefully yesterday. Clara lived at Delamore Retirement Community at Kedron. She moved to Delamore a year ago after many years of ministry in Merrimac and Kingscliff communities.

The Missionary Franciscan Sisters express our deep sorrow and sympathy to the Muslim communities in New Zealand and beyond following the terrible events of Friday.

Sr Maureen Andrews, Pastoral Leader in Cunnamulla Parish, in western Queensland was awarded the Citizen of Year award by the Paroo Shire Council on Australia Day.

Sr M. Francois Wridgway recently. She was a woman of determination, mission, and faith. Sr Fran was missioned to Papua New Guinea soon after her Profession of Vows and remained there for just under 56 years. More recently she resided at Delamore, Kedron

Election for the Leadership Team of the MFIC Sisters was held in September.

The Missionary Franciscans Sisters recently farewelled Sr Karen Bourke who passed away after a lengthy illness.
