The Missionary Franciscan Sisters note with great sadness the death of Archbishop Bathersby. We offer our deepest sympathy to Archbishop Mark Coleridge and the clergy of the Archdiocese, to his family and friends, and to all who knew and loved him.

On 2nd January 1930 three Missionary Franciscan Sisters stepped off the SS Sonoma in Sydney Harbour. They were on their way to Kedron in Brisbane, Queensland to begin their first foundation with the opening of St Anthonys School.

The Missionary Franciscan Sisters are very deeply saddened by the events of the past weeks which have seen huge tracts of bush land ablaze with the resulting lost of life, wildlife, homes and livelihoods.

The MFIC Sisters are sad to announce the death of Sr Crea Gallagher, known in religious life as Sr Mary Patricia. Sr Crea served the community in a wide variety of roles and ministries, particularly education.

Sr M. Clara Condon mfic, much loved Missionary Franciscan Sister, died peacefully yesterday. Clara lived at Delamore Retirement Community at Kedron. She moved to Delamore a year ago after many years of ministry in Merrimac and Kingscliff communities.
